During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are–and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she’s chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she’s kept hidden from everyone because she’s been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, Tris also learns that her secret might help her save the ones she loves . . . or it might destroy her.
The characters was great! Beatrice ‘Tris’ Prior great little girl with the bravery and strength of a woman. Meeting her in the beginning, you get to see a ‘weak’ girl from the faction Abnegation (the selfless) to a great, smart, strong willed young woman in faction Dauntless (the brave). Tris is a person who cannot be controlled by others, and her mind works in a different way then the others, which makes her a Divergent. Being a Devergent is extremly dangerous, and she’s asked not to mention it to anyone! But then she meets Tobias ‘Four’ Eaton. Sexy, strong, hard hearted and smart, Tris finds herself attracted or interested, since it’s Tris we’re talking about, to this mystery man.. Who also happen to be her instructor, instructor of the transfer initiates. So we just have to see what happend there … 😀
This book is highly recommended to those who are fans of Suzanne Collins’ serie ‘The Hunger Games’, Lauren Oliver’s serie Delirium and Ally Condie’s serie Matched. Divergent is definitely worth reading and worth your time :)!
